Welcome to the Off Campus College Volunteer and Community Service Page

We provide information on volunteer opportunities in the community and on-campus. Check out our Events page for an up-to-date listing of local events that need volunteers. Or search our Volunteer Opportunities page to find detailed descriptions of local organizations. You can add your name to our listserv, and we'll keep you posted on the latest volunteer news and events.

If you've just started thinking about volunteering and using some of your extra time to make the world a better place, then consider the following. . .

GUIDING PRINCIPLES
Volunteer service should:
Be purposeful, thoughtful, engaging.
Be undertaken with respect and sensitivity.
Be undertaken freely.
Be honorable activities that contribute to creating a culture of service.
Be viewed as a developmental and learning opportunity.
Contribute toward building an inclusive community.
Contribute toward the well being of the community.

OCC'S VOLUNTEER PROGRAM SERVICES

Personal advising for individuals and groups.
Publications about community opportunities.
A contact list of agencies/organizations seeking volunteers.
Help with advertising and group recognition.
Event planning and assistance.
An annual fair on campus with over 70 organizations seeking volunteers.
