Placement Title: Design Intern
Placement Description: Major function of the Design intern is to assist the Design Department with daily responsibilities, such as helping with the design process from the start of a season to market opening.
Specific Responsibilities/Projects:
• Research the design of garments
• Collect new ideas for design team from inspiration shopping to magazine tears
• Presentation/Theme board: creatively placing fabrics and photographs of inspiration
• Responsible for organizing the fabric/trim library
• Attend fittings to take notes and construct memos
Qualifications Required: Fashion Design included in program of study, Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Skills Acquired:
Interns will learn recruitment process and research methods for training seminars.

Placement Title: Retail-Buying Intern
Placement Description: Major function of the intern is to assist the Retail Buying Department with daily responsibilities, including: market preparation, special reports, boards, receipt tracking, and other projects.
Specific Responsibilities/Projects:
• Prepare departmental sales reports weekly
• Maintain receipt tracking on weekly basis and help resolve issues
• Participate in business review meetings
• Assist with Market preparation, assortment process, and seasonal product boards
• Maintain Purchase Order spreadsheets
• Visual and manual photo shoot preparation and execution
Qualifications Required: Interest in buying, merchandising, and fashion, Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Placement Description: Major function of the intern is to assist Coordinator with daily activities.
Specific Responsibilities/Projects:
• Attend fitting to take fit notes to be attached to garments
• Organization of garment closet
• New idea development for office efficiency
• Makes and file cut tickets
Qualifications Required: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Placement Title: Sales Intern
Specific Responsibilities/Projects: Major function of the intern is to assist Account Executives and Director of Sales in daily activities and help with preparation for market. Responsibilities will include:
• Market Preparation: unpack and set up samples in the showroom; Preparation of materials (linesheets/photos/manuals)
• Coordinate with Account Executives, Merchandising, Production, and Design teams to pull samples and swatches to be used during markets
• Assist in working with customers, including order maintenance, order entry, and sending samples
• Typing line lists, photographing collection, and tagging collection for market
• Analyze seasonal sales reports
Qualifications Required:
Interest in Sales, Courses in Finance and Sales, Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

Placement Description: Responsibilities include assisting the department with day-to-day functions.
Specific Responsibilities/Projects:
• Assist in preparing merchandise plans and productive cuts
• Distribute information to foreign offices, production, and sales teams
• Market Preparation: unpack samples, merchandise collections, set-up showroom for sales presentation, etc.
• Coordinate with Account Executives, Merchandising, Production & Design teams to pull samples and swatches to be used during markets
• Attend designer presentations to sales team prior to line opening
• Update the costing charts in excel (shot markets), update all information in AS400.
Qualifications Required: Merchandising related coursework, Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Qualifications Required: Courses in: Statistics, Retail Math, Marketing, Financial Planning, Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Placement Title: Visual Merchandising Intern
Placement Description: Assist the visual and merchandising teams in special projects relating to the window installations and presentation of DKNY and DK product in stores.
Specific Responsibilities/Projects:
• Learn the aesthetic sensibilities of each collection
• Understand the company's vision for each season
• Assist Visual Manager with sourcing of window materials and props
• Assist in all NYC store changeovers (window displays, in-store merchandising, etc.)
• Assist in Visual Merchandising photo shoots and showroom installations
• Assist Merchandiser with presentation of product in stores
• Responsible for organization of Changeover Feedback pictures for DKNY stores
Qualifications Required: Creativity, interest in fashion, Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, Ability to work in fast-paced environment, Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel.

Martin Pakledinaz Studio - summer/winter
Mission- Designing the costumes for "The Pirate Queen", a new musical by Claude Michel Schonberg and Alain Boublil- opening in Chicago and New York. "Mozart Dances"- a series of dances by Mark Morris for the mostly Mozart festival.
Placement Title: Costume Design intern
Placement Description: General office organization, photo copying, fabric swatching, research, fitting assistance etc.
Qualifications: at least two years of formal education in theatre, knowledge of fabric and costume construction ability to understand tracking of a theatrical script.
Skills Acquired: enhancement of understanding of professional theatre and resources in New York City (fabric stores, costume shops, shoemakers etc)
